    Born in 1978, Egyptian filmmaker Sherif Elbendary lives and works in Cairo. Elbendary graduated from the Faculty of Applied Arts in 2001 and later studied film directing at the High Institute of Cinema in Cairo. He graduated in 2007 with an honorable mention and received his diploma in 2010 from the High Institute of Cinema, where he has been teaching film directing since 2008. In 2004 Elbendary started working as Assistant Director in feature films and in commercials. During 2008 and 2009 Elbendary directed several documentaries for Al Jazeera TV, produced by Hot Spot Films in Dubai, as well as TV commercials. His first short fiction film "Rise & Shine", produced by the Egyptian Film Center in 2006, was officially selected in more than 75 film festivals in 33 countries and won 15 awards. Elbendary's second short film was his graduation project "At Day's End" and produced by the High Institute of Cinema in 2008. It was officially selected in more than 50 film festivals and won 14 awards. With his short film "Curfew" as part of the collective feature "18 days", all set during the days of the Egyptian revolution, Sherif participated at the official selection in Cannes 2011 and in many of other several festivals. Sherif was selected to take part in the Berlinale Talent Campus in 2007. He is currently working on his first feature film "Ali, the Goat, and Ibrahim" but continues to direct short films as he admires the short form as a means of concentrated narration.

Two lonely people at opposite chapters of life accidentally meet on a busy summer day in a Cairo taxi. Frail old Shawky and bubbly young Doaa are both caught up in their busy routines as their race through the city evolves into a journey of self-discovery that reconnects them to life.
