  • Biography:

    Arne Kohlweyer was born in 1981 in Wolgast (Island of Usedom) and grew up in Berlin. In 2008 he finished his post-graduate studies in film directing at FAMU in Prague. Prior to that he studied photography in Graz, Austria, literature in Frankfurt/Oder and film theory at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden.Arne has made various short films, directed for German television and got 2017 nominated for the prestigious Grimme-Award (equivalent to the German Emmys). He was a Berlinale Talent in 2009 (Script Station) and 2010 (Talent Project Market). 2010/2011 he participated in the Academy for Children Media in Erfurt. Additionally Arne has been a participant of the European Short Pitch 2010, the Locarno Summer Academy 2012 and the Reykjavik Talent Lab 2012. In 2014 he took part in a 9-month training as Story editor in the framework of the Torino Film Lab. Arne is member of the German Screenwriter's Guild (VDD) since 2010. He works as an independent screenwriter, film director, script consultant and associate producer (e.g. AGA, Berlinale Competition 2018 and LEMONADE, Berlinale Panorama 2018). Arne has furthermore managed the Script Station (Screenwriter's project lab of Berlinale Talents) from 2011 till 2018.

East-Berlin in autumn 1989. Marko’s parents have just gone on holiday when some odd sort of wall has fallen down – and suddenly everything is in chaos.
The mysterious grown-up talk about it doesn’t help to understand, what it means. So it is up to young Marko to make sense of it on his own.
