    Eimi Imanishi is a U.S. born Japanese citizen who grew up in France. Battalion To My Beat (2016) is her first short film and was shot in the Western Saharan refugee camps in Algeria using non-actors. It premiered at TIFF and has won several awards worldwide. One-Up (2016), her second collaboration with producer Julia Thompson, is set to premiere at Atlanta Film Festival. Eimi earned her BFA at the Slade School of Fine Art, University College London.
